VISION, MISSION & VALUES
A thriving, caring, diverse, multigenerational cohousing community.
We are co-creating an intentional, diverse, multigenerational community within innovative private and shared living spaces. Mosaic Village members share resources and tasks, foster life-long learning and provide a rich living experience. This community is developed within a socially, economically and environmentally responsible setting that enhances our own lives and the quality of life for the surrounding community.
At Mosaic Village, we hold the following values important:
Respect – We value people of all different backgrounds and work together to ensure that everyone is heard, recognized and appreciated. We foster faith in the good of humanity and believe that all of us are better when we work together taking the time to talk our way through problems until we find resolution.
Integrity – As a community we work and live together with responsible, conscientious, and steadfast attitudes. We strive to do what we say we will do, being reliable and trustworthy even when it is inconvenient, difficult or challenging.
Honesty – We value actions and communication that are genuine, authentic and candid. We aim to be truthful and transparent for the good of every member of the community.
Reliability – We recognize that our community will thrive when members are diligent, industrious, dependable and thorough in all we do. We strive to do what we say we will do and ask for help when we need it. We believe in being consistent in who we are and what we do.
Building relationship – We live generously, joyfully, authentically, energetically while accepting and respecting each other’s differences and needs. We assume that each person is doing the best they can do and we go from there. We do this by being open to learning from others, communicating honestly even when it is uncomfortable, recreating and having fun together, and responding to each other’s needs.
Sustainability – We live in such a way that we act responsibly and conscientiously with our finances, the environment, the greater community and each other. Environmentally we understand that natural resources are limited, and ensure that we use those resources wisely and frugally. Economically we work with forethought and prudence. We work to participate and support the neighborhood and the community that we are a part of. We work to add beauty to the environment while considering functionality and affordability in building design and landscaping.
